We wish to thank all the wonderful people and organisation members that stopped by our booth at the Pride of Main Festival held in Waynesville, NC. It was very uplifting to see the enthusiasm of the people entering our booth and having so many others reaching out to explore forming partnerships.

Smoky Mountains Wilderness Watch Was given a free booth by WNC Jeepers at their 2 day JeepFest event held in Maggie Valley, NC. We meet many supporters, gained new members and answered questions that others had about our mission to help them understand what we stood for.

In our continuing efforts to strengthen our working relationship with other local environmental organizations Smoky Mountains Wilderness Watch volunteers attended a training session on the proper method to collect water samples put on by the Watershed Association of the Tuckasegee River. SMWW volunteers will now be collecting water samples from the Tuckasegee River every week over the next 14 weeks.

On May 2, 2026 the Smoky Mountains Wilderness Watch was formally recognized as a fully Chartered Chapter of the North Carolina Wildlife Federation at the charter signing ceremony held in Cary NC.
